Exploring Popular Podcasts: A Guide for Entrepreneurs and Business Enthusiasts

Part of the popularity of podcasts is their convenience — you can listen to them while on-the-go and that versatility offers entrepreneurs easy access to information and topics of interest to them and their businesses.

An estimated 135 million people listened to a podcast in the last month, according to September data by Edison Research, compared to the 120 million monthly podcast listeners this time last year.

YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts are the top platforms for monthly listeners, reports eMarketer using research from April, and most people are accessing podcasts from their phones. The selection of podcasts continues to grow — as of July, Spotify said it had more than 6 million podcast titles.

Business and news consistently rank in the top 10 most popular genres, based on reach, as do comedy, true crime, and society and culture, says Edison Research's first quarter 2024 findings.

If you want to explore some listening options, here are 6 podcasts with a range of styles and topics, from business news and trends to shows featuring successful entrepreneurs and business leaders and experts from every industry.
